April Trout

Sorry for the lack of content on this much neglected blog. It’s something we would like to put right in the next few months! Bare with us!

To get us started how about a few photos from my first and only trip (so far!!!) of the Trout river season on my local Little River Avon. This river doesn’t usually fish so well at the very beginning of April, but this season saw sporadic hatches of LDO bringing the fish up confidently. Something I was all too happy to see and take advantage of! Equipped with a my trusty 6’8″ rod and click and pawl reel I made my way up various runs with good success in most pools. I was particularly happy to catch such a stunning fish with bright red spots, even on it’s dorsal – a feature not usually associated with the fish in this stream.

I’ll post some more things soon, including what we’re currently working on…
