Is it summer yet?

I’d like to say I have lots of things to report since my last blog post but the truth is, I don’t! The crazy amount of rain we’ve had in the last couple of months has left the rivers up and coloured virtually constantly since the reopening of the coarse season – not ideal for the fly rod!
I did have a trip to the Wye with bait and had a few barbel and chub from the dirty floodwater. Desperate to cast some flies I even took to the Severn Estuary for an hour, of course I blanked but I was treated to the most amazing sky!

[Only a phone photo but the colours were fantastic]
Workwise we’ve been completing orders and starting new rods. Work on fly reels continues so watch this space for announcements regarding this.
I’m off to salty Kernow next week and I’m hopeful of a bass or two, lets just hope the wind allows for effective fly fishing. If not, the plugging tackle will be on standby!
Cheers
