S-Glass 6’6″ 3wt Fibreglass Fly Rod
The second instalment of a series of posts showing some of the builds I’ve completed recently.This one again focuses on a gorgeous glass stick!
The rod is built on a superb S Glass blank and in a more subdued olive colour than the last post. Single leg stand of rings and the striking stripey agate are whipped in a classic dark green and the rod is finished with a black aluminium reelseat. The action is much faster than glass rods of old, but not as fast as carbon often is. These rods, I think, really are a happy medium between cane and carbon and are a joy to cast. These blanks range from 6′ to 8′ and in weights #3 to #5 and depending on hardware choices, they are priced at around £250 – If you’re interested in having one built for you please get in contact with me.
