Restoration

Spent a few hours stripping down varnish and re whipping an old MKIV today, its a cracking rod that has caught many barbel/chub etc… It was a shame the varnish had started to crack but the close season is a great time to re do it.

Decided to wrap it with a deep red/burgundy coloured silk that will eventually be translucent once the varnish has soaked it. I always look forward to using a restored rod for the first time and this one is no different, maybe it’ll be ‘re-christened’ with one of those wild carp I was talking about yesterday…
