That’s all folks… For now.

Given the lack of posts of late, both here and on social media, it might not surprise you to hear this, but I’m taking a break from rod building. So much so in fact, that I’ve closed Rawson Fishing Ltd.

Why am I doing this? Well, quite a few reasons actually:

– My family and I have moved house, and as yet, I don’t have an adequate workshop to facilitate rod building.
– My Children are growing up FAST and whilst I’m spending my free time stood in my workshop planing cane, I’m missing things.
– I’m burnt out with social media.
– My day job has become far more intense.
– Building so many rods greatly reduces the amount of time you have to actually go fishing, and I like fishing!
– The benefits of running a limited company seem to be forever dwindling.

So what does this mean for the future? Honestly, I don’t know. I still have unfinished business, ideas I never got around to creating and I’ll no doubt be building rods in some capacity once I have a workspace up and running.

In the meantime, if any rodbuilders are looking for equipment / glass blanks etc etc, then please get  in touch and I may be able to help. I’m not looking to give stuff away but am probably open to sensible offers.

Social medias etc will remain, but will go through a name change/rebrand when I’m suitably inspired.

Thanks for all your support over the last ~13 years, it’s much appreciated!
